At Dhamma Dipa International Buddhist University (DDIBU), inclusivity is a core principle that shapes our academic and social environment. In alignment with national policies and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the university is dedicated to ensuring equitable access and dignified participation for all students, including those with physical, visual, hearing, and learning disabilities.
Infrastructure Accessibility
The campus is designed to be barrier-free, enabling differently-abled individuals to move freely and comfortably. Key features include:
- Ramps with handrails at academic and administrative buildings
- Wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and pathways
- Elevators with Braille buttons and audio announcements in multi-storied buildings
- Reserved seating in classrooms and seminar halls
- Signage in large print and contrasting colors for better visibility
Academic Support
We ensure that no student is left behind in their academic journey by offering:
- Assistive technologies (screen readers, speech-to-text software, magnifiers)
- Scribes and extra time during examinations, as per approved guidelines
- Digitized learning materials and audiobooks for visually impaired students
- Faculty sensitization programs to support inclusive teaching methods
Support Services
- Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) to monitor and promote accessibility initiatives
- Counseling and mentorship support tailored to the needs of differently-abled students
- Liaison with government bodies and NGOs for assistive devices, scholarships, and internships
- Transport assistance on campus via accessible vehicles (in planning stage)
