In strict compliance with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, DDIBU has constituted a vigilant and responsive Anti-Ragging Cell.
Zero Tolerance Policy Against Ragging
DDIBU follows a zero-tolerance approach toward any form of ragging. Ragging is strictly prohibited inside or outside the university premises, and any involvement in such activities will result in stringent disciplinary action, including suspension, expulsion, or legal prosecution.
What is Ragging?
As per UGC regulations, ragging includes:
- Any physical or mental abuse (including bullying and intimidation)
- Teasing, humiliation, or any act that causes embarrassment
- Forcing students to perform actions against their will
- Verbal abuse or socially offensive behavior
- Any act that affects the mental well-being or dignity of another student
Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell
- Prevent and eliminate any form of ragging on campus
- Promote awareness about the legal and social consequences of ragging
- Provide a platform for students to report incidents confidentially
- Ensure quick and fair inquiry into complaints
- Foster a culture of mutual respect, peace, and brotherhood
Measures Implemented
- Mandatory Anti-Ragging Affidavit signed by students and parents at admission
- Awareness programs, orientation sessions, and posters displayed across the campus
- Monitoring squads and surprise inspections in hostels and public areas
- Counseling services for victims and witnesses
- 24x7 helpline and reporting system for quick response
- Coordination with hostel wardens, security personnel, and student mentors
