Dr. Biswajit Baishnab,

Head of the Department (I/C)
I am delighted to welcome you to the Department of Botany at Dhamma Dipa International Buddhist University.

We are committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a spirit of scientific inquiry among students who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the fascinating world of plants.

The study of botany contributes not only to our understanding of plant life, but also, to our understanding of environmental sustainability, diversity conservation, agriculture, and human well-being.
In today’s world, where challenges such as climate change, food security, and ecological
balance is pressing concerns; the study of plants becomes ever more significant.
Here at DDIBU, we emphasize a balanced approach that combines classroom learning,
laboratory training, field studies, and research exposure. Our aim is to empower students
with both knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to pursue careers in academics,
research, industry, and environmental management.
I encourage everyone to attend as many lectures, practicals, seminars, and field trips as
possible to take advantage of the department's opportunities. We should collaborate to
foster a profound regard for nature and its priceless resources in addition to scientific
knowledge.
I hope your academic and other endeavours are filled with success

Warm regards,
Dr. Biswajit Baishnab
